This study group will supplement craft groups in the areas of personal essay or narrative, memoir, and creative nonfiction. Members will access copies of insightful titles, both exemplars and instructional/advisory works, and discuss the content, how it relates to our reading and writing-related experiences, writing practices, and growth as nonfiction students and writers. The moderator will select initial titles for study but may open selection of titles to member input as time goes on. Excerpts or sections of texts may also serve as focus titles. Moderator will provide prompts for discussion based on the readings, but the conversation will be open to different topics. Participation will be driven by source text rather than time, as some works merit more discussion than others, but the moderator will provide deadlines for commentary to keep things moving.
