Adult Fiction with Jane Chun

October 30th, 2024 - November 28th, 2024

with Jane Chun

Group started

You'll submit your pages at the group start, then spend the next weeks critiquing peer stories. Jane will submit her notes near the critique deadline. After critiques are complete, we host a 2-hour group debrief, in which each writer gets 15 minutes of individual time with Jane to dig into feedback, brainstorm next steps, and discuss any writing questions.

Our goal with these events is to help writers become stronger storytellers. That said, each opening pages event we offer also comes with a submission opportunity.

About Jane Chun

I joined Transatlantic in 2023 after four years at Janklow & Nesbit Associates and am currently building my list.

I'm particularly interested in stories that center marginalized communities and prose that is cinematic and atmospheric with good rhythm. I'm drawn toward compelling, fresh voices that me feel as though the writer is in the room with me, telling me their story with intimacy as if we were already acquainted. Regardless of how plot-driven a story is, characters with rich inner worlds and emotional depth are a must for me.

I'm seeking literary, upmarket, and commercial fiction; select nonfiction; and graphic novels and nonfiction. In fiction, I love everything from realistic contemporary works to fantasy, sci-fi, speculative fiction, and historical fiction.

I'm not the right person for prescriptive nonfiction, self-help, religion/spirituality books, romance, commercial thrillers, hard sci-fi, poetry, or short story collections.
